What is the Alexander Technique?

We have great freedom and ease in our bodies when we are very young, but this is easily disturbed. As we grow up, we can pick up unhelpful habits along the way which can cause pain, strain, poor posture and fatigue. Sitting for a long time, using computers, commuting, bending with straight legs, carrying heavy bags or babies - all these and more can lead to stress and tension in our bodies and minds.

The Alexander Technique looks at how to improve the way you use your body. Pausing, even for one second, gives us the chance to think and to change, to stop being on automatic pilot. To see what is happening to tension in our neck, back, arms and legs.

It makes a lot more sense when experienced. Please come along for one lesson and see what it is all about.
