Your Alexander lesson

One-to-one lessons last 30-40 minutes and provide a relaxing and calming experience. Through explanation and a guiding touch, you will learn to rediscover natural balance and poise. We start by working with simple movements, such as sitting and standing, which are basic to everyday activity. We also spend time looking at a way of lying down that eases tension in the mind and body and can be done every day at home for 5-10 minutes. Over time we will explore things like walking and bending and you will learn how your body works as a co-ordinated system and how you can prevent and release tension in daily life.

Lessons cost £28 during the day. Lessons at 6.45pm cost £32. A limited number of concessionary places are available. Availability is from Mondays to Fridays, from 8.30am to 6.45pm.

The ideas we play with in lessons can be used to help you see what type of habits you have. So you may start to think about whether your knees lock when you stand or if you hang you head when you stroll down the street. These types of habits are different for everyone and so lessons are individually tailored.
